My name is Azza Gallab and I’m an experience architect. In other words, I love to beautify and aroma-fy everything I touch, everywhere I go through candle making, interior design, event design and production, styling, etc :-).
I started Haremesque in my Brooklyn apartment the spring of 2015, initially as a candle experiment, turned obsession gone horribly right -–after A LOT of maddening trial and error.
My inspiration came from the women of my birthplace, Sudan, specifically the women in my family -–hi Mama. In brief, I believe Sudanese women to be aromatically superior beings (i.e. they smell really…really, good). The men aren’t so bad in the aroma department either.
Long story short, I decided to concoct spellbinding potions by mixing classic Sudanese fragrances with other captivating scents I’ve fallen in love with throughout my travels and voilà, without further ado, I present to you: Haremesque!
I stand by Rumi’s words of wisdom “let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”
And so, here we are.
Now, I’m sharing my love with the world. I only hope that you will love it too.
